Work at Home Grandmothers

Work at Home Network Just for Grandmoms!

This is a brand new network, and I'm still learning my way around as far as setting things up.

What made me start this? I've had a blog for a couple of years by the same name, http://www.workathomegrandmoms.com, and thought this would be another fun way for Grandmoms who work at home to gather.

Please join even if you're almost a Grandmother, have never had children, but are an "adopted' Grandma, or like me, you are still looking forward to that phone call from your daughter/son saying "guess what, Mom, we're pregnant!"

I'm looking forward to getting this little place on the web all comfy and cozy for us, it will take a little time, but hop right in, I can't wait to meet you!

Thanks so much for creating this network Claudia! I always feel just a little bit like a fraud at WAHM sites because my children are all grown up, even though I'm still a Mom and always will be. Maybe that will change now that I have a grandbaby in my life and can relate?

I've already tweeted this network and will do so again to spread the word. If there is anything else I can do to help around here just let me know. I have a pretty good handle on all aspects of internet marketing.

Take care,
Melody

Hi Melody,

I am glad you have found us, and thanks so much for promoting! If you have a blog and can add out badge to it, that would be nice.

Actually, I am not a Grandmother myself yet, though I have a married daughter. I was hopeful, and dream a lot, and my dreams and wishes lead to this network, but no grandchild yet. It's okay, though, I am content, and will enjoy the pleasures of grandparenting "vicariously" through those who are:-)

Have a wonderful day, and thanks again for offers to help.

Hi Claudia and all,

Sorry to be so long in posting and saying hi. I had good intentions but "got busy" - Hmm - don't we all!

Things have been quite hectic here for the past week. We may all be grandmas (or wanna be grandmas) but we are also daughters. And I have been called upon as a daughter big time this week. Mom was taken to the ER a week ago, released, and then back to ER on Sunday night - unresponsive. She has had a very rough time of it and is a very weak and sick lady right now.

We had to call hospice yesterday. Mom is now back in her room at the nursing home where she had been living and hospice will be giving her extra help in addition to what the nursing home provides.

I know this will continue to be difficult for me, so I will be in and out as far as internet is concerned.

Today when I visited her she was in her wheelchair and at breakfast - although they said they were only able to feed her a couple of bites. This is the first time she has even sat up in several days. And she was able to talk to me a bit and I helped her drink some milk. Then she was exhausted and went back to bed.

So hard....

I do expect to be more active after I get things more settled with mom.

Gail,

I am sorry to hear that you are going through this. I know you have been helping with your Mom for some years now it seems, and it is hard. It's much more important than anything else, treasure this time with her. Hospice is wonderful and supportive. We appreciated them and wished they were involved sooner when my Dad was in his last days.

Hugs,

Claudia
